A Location for Growth

Ample Organics

The Commercial Road has been the springboard for several successful ventures over the years, the most recent being Ample Organics.

Founded in 2014 by John Prentice, Ample Organics is Canada’s leading technology provider for licenced growers, whose seed-to-sale platform is the nation’s most widely adopted cannabis record keeping solution.  John founded Ample Organics from a hot desk on The Commercial Road and expanded his operations quickly to an entire floor of the building.  In a few short years, Ample Organics was named a Deloitte Fast 50 Winner, a LinkedIn Top Start-up, and was included on the Globe and Mail’s list of Canada’s Top Growing companies. No stranger to jumping into fast-growing sectors, John has recently launched a new tech venture and a cannabis pre-rolled company called PINNRZ.

TJ Micro

The Commercial Road brings together a diversity of businesses and people. It’s great to exchange ideas and make connections that grow my company. I host a regular BBQ outside which is great for socializing with my colleagues. A really great place to work!

A MidTown Location Neighbourhood that Can Have It All

The Leaside Business Park has a long history as a business magnet, one that is undergoing fundamental change. Legacy growth policies that supported the production and movement of goods are being gradually replaced by software companies, environmental services, marketing firms and entrepreneurial start-ups that have different infrastructure requirements from previous uses.

A Growing Trend of Industrial Area Rebirth

Places such as Liberty Village, the Junction and the Distillery District have become seedbeds for local place-based innovation. The Duke Heights BIA is another aspirational model for the Leaside Business Park; an area of Toronto where light manufacturing, small/medium-sized enterprises, retailers, restaurateurs and others co-exist with residents to create a growing local economy. These areas celebrate diversity and mixed-use to support place-based innovation. The Commercial Road believes it’s time for the Leaside business park to have a place that houses local entrepreneurs and small companies under one roof. It needs a hub where possibility can happen.

Be Part of Leaside’s and Toronto’s Future

The Commercial Road, as an innovator in the Leaside Business Park, is a place where businesses will have fun and grow. We share a vision of the Leaside Business Park as something more than old school industries surrounded by vacant lots and self-storage centres. It can and needs to become a more inclusive business magnet that is greener, safer, more pedestrian and bike-friendly. A community that attracts entrepreneurs to this fast-changing part of the city.

We hope you’ll consider being part of the community here at The Commercial Road.

A look inside!
